Bhubaneswar: Two cops were martyred in an encounter with Maoists in in Pamed police station under Chhattisgarh’s Bijapur district on Saturday. They deceased have been identified as Arvind Minj and Sukku Habka of the Bijapur district force.

Reportedly, the incident took place when the two policemen were on their way to Tippapuram village accompanied by a villager. A group of four-five Naxals opened fire, leaving constable Arvind Minj and assistant constable Sukku Habka dead on the spot.
On the other hand, the villager was critically injured and was rushed to Cherla in neighbouring Telangana for treatment.
