Bhubaneswar: At least 20 people were killed when a speeding state transport bus collided with an auto-rickshaw and both the vehicles fell into a roadside well in Maharashtra’s Nashik district today.
Around 18 people sustained injuries in the mishap which occurred at around 4 pm at Meshi Phata on the Malegaon-Deola Road, around 200km from Mumbai, sources said.
The impact of the collision was so severe that the bus dragged the auto-rickshaw along with it and both the vehicles fell into a roadside well.
Fire Services personnel, Nashik police, and local volunteers rushed to the site and carried out rescue operations. The bus has been pulled out of the well, the police said.
