New Delhi: In a significant operation, the Telangana police have arrested 20 Naxalites, including high-ranking members, in Mulugu district. The arrested individuals comprise one Divisional Committee Member, five Area Committee Members, and 14 party members. A substantial cache of explosives, cash, and arms was seized, including three INSAS rifles, four SLR rifles, and one .303 rifle.
This operation follows the successful conclusion of the Karregutta operation in Chhattisgarh’s Bijapur district, aimed at eliminating Naxalites. The crackdown is seen as a crucial step towards weakening the Maoist network in the district.
In a related development, eight Maoists, including a Divisional Committee Member and platoon members, have surrendered to the Mulugu district Superintendent of Police. The surrendered Maoists will receive assistance under the government’s rehabilitation policy, marking a significant step towards restoring peace in the region.
