Bhubaneswar: At least six people were killed and several others injured after a collision between the Korba Passenger train and a goods train near Lalkhadan in Bilaspur district of Chhattisgarh on Tuesday evening.
The accident occurred around 4 PM, according to initial reports. Railway officials and rescue teams rushed to the spot immediately after the incident, and relief operations are underway on a war footing. Medical units and divisional officers have also been deployed to assist in the evacuation and treatment of the injured.
The cause of the collision is yet to be ascertained, and no official statement has been issued by the Railways so far. Eyewitnesses reported that the impact was severe, leading to the derailment of coaches and significant damage to both trains.
