New Delhi: The ruling BJP has issued a three-line whip to all its Members of Parliament to attend Parliament from December 9 to December 11.
The whip reads, “All BJP members in Lok Sabha are hereby informed that some very important legislative business will be taken up for discussion and passing in the Lok Sabha from Monday, the 9th December 2019 to Wednesday, the 11th December 2019”. The whip asks members to be “positively present” to “support the government stand”.
On Monday some of the crucial bills will be moved which includes the contentious Citizenship Amendment Bill, 2019 that seeks to provide Indian nationality to Hindus, Christians, Sikhs, Parsis, Jains and Buddhists fleeing persecution in Pakistan, Afghanistan and Bangladesh.
Apart from this, on Monday, Home Minister Amit Shah is slated to move the Arms Amendment Bill 2019, and External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar will move the Anti Maritime Piracy Bill, 2019, among others.
