Bhubaneswar: BJP MP Pratap Sarangi sustained a head injury after allegedly being pushed by Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi during a heated protest on Parliament premises by both BJP and Congress over an insult to BR Ambedkar, on Thursday.
While Sarangi alleged that Congress leader Rahul Gandhi pushed him, Congress, on the other hand, claimed that BJP MPs pushed Mallikarjun Kharge and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra at the Makar Dwar of Parliament.
Talking to media following the incident Sarangi said, “I suffered a head injury because Rahul Gandhi pushed an MP, who then fell on me.”
Responding to Sarangi’s allegations, Rahul Gandhi said, “I wanted to enter Parliament. It’s my right. BJP members tried to stop me from going in. This is the entrance and we have the right to go in. We were barred from entering Parliament. The central issue is that they are attacking the Constitution and insulting the memory of Ambedkar ji.”
According to the Congress, Home Minister Amit Shah has insulted Ambedkar, and his offence is unpardonable. The entire system is trying to protect him.
