Bhubaneswar: A book titled ‘Power of People + Passion: A Workbook for Budding Entrepreneurs’ co-authored by the founders of Human Resource firm SimplyHR was launched virtually on Tuesday.
Founders of SimplyHR – Rajneesh Singh, P.S. Babu, Saurabh Khandelwal, and Saurabh Saxena – launched the workbook in partnership with SME platform SMBConnect.
The virtual launch was moderated by Karma Paljor, Editor-in-Chief at Eastmojo.com who conducted a live discussion between the attendees and co-authors.
The past decade has witnessed a movement and an upsurge in entrepreneurship and start-ups the world over. The proverb ‘it’s a small world’ couldn’t be truer today when the internet has unlocked infinite channels to connect and communicate.
Like the new-age silk route, it has promoted trade and commerce, exposure to different cultures, and influenced the way we work. Today, people, especially the youth, are deviating from stringent legacy frameworks that determined how organisations operate to a more freethinking, open-to-ideas kind of work ethos.
Moreover, people are no longer terrified at the idea of pursuing and capitalising on their passion.
In 2011, four colleagues with a similar lookout dropped their corporate outfits and decided to follow their calling to create the Human Resource firm called SimplyHR.
Eleven years later, today they are a renowned and established business that provides end-to-end HR services.
The fascinating and engaging workbook comprises interesting anecdotes starting from how a fleeting idea had the power to change the lives of four men who decided to give up their 9-to-5 jobs to pursue their passion with courage, perseverance, and a lot of patience. It features their victories and losses, the adversities and encouragements, and how this endeavour shaped them as people and their values and principles.
At the end of every chapter in the workbook, the co-authors pose five vital questions to the reader to introspect and write down their unique strategy to build their start-up. Power of People + Passion is not a one-time read, but offers the reader a fresh perspective every time they pick up their copy as they mature through their entrepreneurial journey.

They informed that all proceeds of the workbook will go towards supporting 3 social organisations: The Rani Laxmi Bai Sports Academy, Siwan, Bihar – an academy for budding girl footballers; NayiDisha, Gurugram – a preparatory school for underprivileged children; and Parivartan School, Delhi – A school for children with autism.
