Bhubaneswar: Varanasi police has earned appreciation from all and sundry for fulfilling a nine-year-old cancer patient’s dream of becoming an IPS officer.
Ranveer, who is suffering from a brain tumour and undergoing treatment at Mahamana Cancer Hospital, had a dream of becoming an IPS officer and his wish was granted by the local police department.
Thanks to the noble gesture of the Varanasi police, Ranveer lived his dream of an IPS officer, although for a day.
The administrative department in Uttar Pradesh took the initiative of letting him become an IPS officer for one day.
Ranveer’s story brought laurels to Varanasi police after ADG Zone Varanasi shared a series of posts on social media platform X.
The department’s post, when translated from Hindi, reads, “9-year-old Ranveer Bharti is undergoing treatment for a brain tumour at Mahamana Cancer Hospital, Varanasi. In such a situation, Ranveer expressed his wish to become an IPS officer, so the child’s wish was fulfilled in the office #adgzonevaranasi.” The post included pictures and a video capturing Ranveer’s special day.
The Twitter post included three photos of Ranveer in a khaki uniform and a video of him interacting with police personnel, ending with a group photo.
In the photos, young Ranveer can be seen sitting proudly inside a police cabin, dressed in a crisp khaki uniform. In the video, he can be seen warmly interacting with police personnel, shaking their hands, and experiencing the responsibilities of an IPS officer,
The initiative of Varanasi police has received immense appreciation from social media users across the country.
Praising the police for their gesture, one user wrote, “Sir, you won my heart. I salute you from my heart,” while another added, “Commendable contribution towards this child.”
