CBSE Exempts Exam Fee For Students Who Lost Parents Due To Covid-19

Bhubaneswar: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has declared to waive off exam and registration fees for Class X and XII students who have lost parents due to the COVID-19.

“The COVID-19 pandemic has impacted the country adversely and keeping in view of its impact on students, CBSE, as a special measure for the academic session 2021-22, has decided that neither the examination fees nor the registration fees will be charged by the Board from the student(s) who have lost both parents or surviving parent or legal guardian/adoptive parents due to COVID-19 pandemic,” read a letter of the CBSE released on Tuesday.

Therefore, the Board has asked the schools to provide the details of these students, while submitting the List of Candidates (LOC), after verifying the genuineness.

The CBSE had earlier communicated to the schools that the LOC for Class X and XII Examination 2021-22 will start from September 17 and continue till September 30 without late fees and thereafter till October 9 with late fees.
