Bhubaneswar: Rahul Sahu, the 11-year-old boy who had been rescued from an 80-feet deep abandoned borewell after 104 hours on June 14, was discharged from hospital on Saturday.
Sahu was undergoing treatment at Apollo Hospital in Bilaspur after his rescue from the borewell at Pihrid village of Janjgir-Champa district. Chhattisgarh Government was bearing all the expenses of his treatment.
He was suffering from infection as bacteria had entered his body through wounds inflicted during the prolonged stay in the tunnel. He was being administered with necessary antibiotics and he recovered successfully.
Collector Jitendra Kumar Shukla said there were blessings of Lord Jagannath on Rahul from day one. He thanked the team of doctors and informed Rahul’s health condition will be monitored regularly even after his discharge.
