Bhubaneswar: A team from Government of India will be touring Odisha to assess the damages in the aftermath of the severe tropical cyclone Bulbul. Special Relief Commissioner Pradip Jena today said that the Central team will most likely arrive in Odishaon 13th November evening or the next morning.
“Post Fani, the Central Government has started a system of carrying out damage assessment at the earliest. Earlier the Central team used to visit after we submitted the memorandum. The process took 7 to 10 days and by then maximum impact could not be assessed,” he said.
This would be the preliminary visit of the Central team which will visit four districts. On 14th and 15th November the team would tour the affected areas. On the other hand, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has directed officials to complete crop and house damage assessment by this week, Jena said.
