New Delhi: A 45-year-old man in the national capital attacked his wife and three daughters with a broken windowpane, resulting in the death of one of his daughters, an official said on Thursday.
The accused, who has been identified as Bhim Sen alias Pappu, a resident of Johripur, is yet to be arrested.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (East), Priyanka Kashyap, said a PCR call was received at Karawal Nagar police station stating that a person has attacked his daughters and the injured are admitted to GTB Hospital.
On reaching the hospital, the police found that four persons (mother and three daughters) were admitted there by some relatives.
“On inquiry, it emerged that at about 7.15 a.m. on Thursday, Bhim Sen had a quarrel with his wife during which he attacked her with a broken piece of windowpane. Hearing their mother’s cries, the daughters intervened to save her, but the accused attacked them as well,” Kashyap said.
One of the daughters received injury on her stomach while the others received injuries on their chest and hands.
“After the attack, Bhim Sen ran away from the spot. The family members then called one of their relatives, who shifted them to the hospital,” the officer said.
During treatment, the accused’s 18-year-old daughter succumbed to her injuries.
“Presently, one 23-year-old daughter and their 42-year-old mother are still under treatment while the third daughter, aged around 21 years, has been discharged,” the officer said.
A hunt is on to nab the accused.
