New Delhi: As part of her election campaign, NDA Presidential candidate Draupadi Murmu on Sunday met BJP MPs and MLAs from the national capital.
Except Lok Sabha member from North West Delhi, Hansraj Hans all the other six BJP MPs had attended the interaction with NDA Presidential candidate Murmu.
Among eight BJP MLAs, O.P. Sharma was not present due to health issues.
Delhi BJP president Adesh Gupta and state general secretary (organisation) Siddharthan were also present during the interaction.
Lok Sabha Members Parvesh Sahib Singh Verma, Ramesh Bidhuri, Gautam Gambhir, Dr Harsh Vardhan, Meenakshi Lekhi and Manoj Tiwari were present during interaction with Murmu.
MLAs Ramvir Singh Bidhuri, Vijender Gupta, Ajay Mahawar, Anil Bajpai, Abhay Verma, Mohan Singh Bisht and Jitender Mahajan were also present.
One of the BJP lawmakers present during the interaction said that NDA Presidential candidate Murmu urged the MPs and MLAs to support her. “She sought our support in Presidential election and talked about her journey and struggle of life,” he said.
Vijender Gupta tweeted: “Welcomed Presidential candidate Smt. Draupadi Murmu ji to Delhi. PM @narendramodi’s commitment to social justice & women empowerment are reflected in Murmu ji’s nomination. Nation would feel proud to see a strong woman leader from tribal community being elected as the President.”
