Bhubaneswar: The expansion of channels under Swayam Prabha TV will come to the rescue of most rural students who due to lack of internet facilities are unable to access education through the online medium, says Silpi Sahoo, Chairperson at SAI International Education Group.
Students will now have access to basic study material class-wise through a DTH service on their TVs and that too in their regional languages for better understanding, she adds.
Swayam Prabha is a group of 12 DTH channels devoted to telecasting quality educational programmes 24 hours a day, 7 days a week meant for students who don’t have access to the internet.
Like Sahoo, several educationists have welcomed the government’s decision to increase the channels from 12 to 200. These channels can be accessed through DD Free Dish, Dish TV, TATA Play, Airtel and Jio TV app.
