Bhubaneswar: Efforts is the only way out and victory is the sole alternative to deal with the pandemic which the world is battling over the last two years, said Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday.
Speaking to Chief Minister on Thursday over video conference, Modi said, “India’s fight against Covid has entered into the third year. We 130 crore Indians will surely emerge victorious against Corona.”
“I have witnessed the same confidence by talking to all CMs. The COVID has posed a new challenge in form of Omicron due to which the number of cases are surging exponentially. Home Minister Amit Shah and the Union Health Secretary have briefed us about the situation today.”
“The CMs have shared very important points in this perspective today. The doubts over Omicron at the initial stages are getting clearer. Omicron variant infects common people at a very higher rate as compared to the older variants.”
Countries like USA have witnessed 14 lakh new cases in a single day. Indian scientists and health experts are examining all statistics and situations very carefully. “This is clear that we need to be careful and alert but cannot afford to panic,” said Modi.
“We need to ensure that in the season of festivals, the alertness of people at the administration need cannot come down. The Centre and State Governments have worked in a preemptive, proactive and collective manner so far. The mantra to victory is the same today.”
“The more we contain the rate of infection, the more we can be able to work towards winning this battle against Corona. Apart from focusing on scientific analysis, we need to boost our medical infrastructure,” said PM Modi.
