Five Suspected Terrorists Held After Exchange Of Fire In Delhi

Bhubaneswar/New Delhi: The Special Cell of Delhi Police on Monday arrested five suspected terrorists following an exchange of fire in Shakarpur area of the capital city, informed PS Kushwaha, DCP Special Cell.

“The group affiliation of the arrested men is yet to be ascertained,” said Kushwaha.

According to the information, two of them are from Punjab and three others are from Kashmir. Delhi Police have identified them as Shabbir Ahmed, Ayub Pathan, Riyaz Rather, Gurjeet Singh and Sukhdeep Singh.

One of them is also alleged to have been involved in the assassination of Shaurya Chakra winner Balwinder Singh in Punjab.

Weapons and other incriminating materials have been recovered from their possession.

The police is ascertaining their intentions for presence in the capital amid already raging farmer agitation at the city borders. The Special Cell team has started the interrogations.
