Bhubaneswar: A new low-pressure area is expected to form over the southwest Bay of Bengal within the next 48 hours, bringing heavy to very heavy rainfall to coastal Tamil Nadu, Kerala, and south coastal Andhra Pradesh.
According to the India Meteorological Department, heavy rainfall is likely to occur in these regions from November 11 to 14. Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikal can expect isolated very heavy rainfall on November 8 and 12, while Kerala and Mahe will experience similar weather conditions on November 8.
The cyclonic circulation over the southwest Bay of Bengal persists, extending up to 3.6 km above mean sea level. The low-pressure area is likely to move westwards towards Tamil Nadu and Sri Lanka coasts over the next two days.
