**Lucknow:** In a queer development in the ongoing national politics and as announced by herself today on the occasion of Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) founder father late Kanshi Ram, BSP supremo Mayawati has reportedly made up her mind not to contest the upcoming general elections this time.
She would rather campaign for her grand alliance (BSP+SP+RLD and others) in Uttar Pradesh, media reports said.
“Keeping in mind the current political situation, I have decided not to contest the Lok Sabha elections,” Mayawati told the media.
As per the media reports, the most surprising development is that she has slated to address a public gathering in Mainpuri and campaign for her erstwhile arch rival-cum-Samajwadi Party patriarch Mulayam Singh Yadav there on April 19. She will also share the dais with Mulayam.
Mulayam is the MP candidate from Mainpuri in Uttar Pradesh.
