Journalists Samriddhi Sakunia And Swarna Jha Granted Bail

Bhubaneswar: The Chief Judicial Magistrate of Tripura’s Gomti district today granted bail to journalists Swarna Jha and Samriddhi Sakunia in connection with a case filed by a local VHP worker.

Sakunia and Jha were arrested by Tripura Police and were produced before court which granted bail to the journalists.

Fatikroy police of Tripura on Sunday registered a FIR on the basis of a complaint against the two journalists working with HW News Network.

A senior police official had said in Agartala on Sunday that the journalists posted on social media that a mosque was burnt in Gomati district and a copy of the Quran was damaged.

The Editors Guild of India had denounced police action against the journalists and demanded their immediate release.
