Bhubaneswar: A man allegedly smuggling red sandalwood from Karnataka, taking a cue from Allu Arjun starrer Telugu movie ‘Pushpa: The Rise’, ran into trouble and got arrested in Maharashtra.
The accused identified as Yasin Inayithulla had loaded his truck with red sandalwood and had covered it with fruits and vegetable boxes just like the movie where Allu Arjun is shown smuggling red sandalwood by piling wood into a tanker and then topping it with milk.
Inayithulla had successfully crossed Karnataka-Andhra border but was nabbed after entering Gandhi Chowk area at Meeraj Nagar in Sangli district of Maharashtra. Around 1 ton of sandalwood worth Rs 2.45 cr and the truck has been seized by police.
