Bhubaneswar: A day after the results of Assembly elections in four states – Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh and Telangana were announced on Sunday, the stage is now set for counting the votes in the 40-seat Mizoram Assembly that went to the poll on November 7.
The counting has started amid tight security in the north-eastern state which witnessed a keen contest between two regional players Mizo National front and Zoram People’s Movement even as national parties Congress and BJP are vying for supremacy.
The results were supposed to be announced on December 3, but the Election Commission of India (ECI) rescheduled it for today following protests by several fronts as Sunday is an auspicious day for Christians.
Here are the early trends as the counting is underway.
