Bhubaneswar: ‘Milind is the man for South Mumbai’, says Chairman of Reliance Industries Ltd and business magnate Mukesh Ambani while endorsing Congress’s Milind Deora for the Mumbai South seat, which is scheduled to vote on April 29.
In a video tweeted by Mumbai Congress President Milind Deora, Ambani can be heard saying, “Having represented South Bombay for 10 years, I believe Milind has in-depth knowledge of the social, economic and cultural ecosystem of the South Bombay constituency.” It is notable to mention here that Ambani’s father, Dhirubhai, had close ties with Milind’s father and Congress leader, Murli Deora.
The video has been tweeted by Milind with the caption, “We need to bring businesses back to Mumbai and make job creation for our youth a top priority.#MumbaiKaConnection”. It is interesting to note that Ambani is not the only corporate bigwig endorsing Deora. Uday Kotak, Managing Director of Kotak Mahindra Bank also features in the video.
Several people have critiqued the video saying Congress President Rahul Gandhi has been constantly attacking younger brother Anil Ambani over his role in the alleged Rafale scam, but on the other hand older brother Mukesh Ambani is endorsing Congress candidate. To this, Deora has responded that the two are different entities and it will be unfair to compare them with each other.
