Bhubaneswar: National Digital Library of India (NDLI), developed, operated, and maintained by the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kharagpur, has been providing students and researchers of all disciplines the benefits of virtual learning.
The portal (https://ndl.iitkgp.ac.in/) went live about five years back and has a digital repository of over 30 million content resources in over 100 languages freely accessible to its users through national license by MHRD.
These are virtual courses, for learners from different educational backgrounds or varied capabilities, accessible from anywhere in the world.
At a time when the country is battling with the Covid-19, students and teachers can leverage the National Digital Library and gain all day and night access to e-books, past questions papers and solutions, lecture materials, and thesis, among others.
The NDLI has also built a “Covid-19 research resource repository” with the latest research from across the world – a kind of single window access to various materials related to Covid-19, be it data, research work, videos, challenges, and funds.
