Bhubaneswar: Sangram Jena, an Indian army personnel hailing from Jajpur district, hogged limelight after creating a world record by displaying dare-devil stunts on moving motorcycle.
Jena set the record by covering a distance of 128 km while standing backwards on a ladder atop a moving motorcycle at a show organised at Jabalpur in Madhya Pradesh. Today, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik felicitated Jena and encouraged him to achieve more success in future.
Jena is part of the Daredevils’ Motorcycle Display Team of the Indian Army Corps of Signals. He broke the previous record of BSF’s Avdesh Singh, who rode the bike for 68 km. “I covered 128 kms with an 11 foot ladder in four hours. This has been included in Guinness Book of World Records.”
