Odisha: Noted Sand Artists Carve Out Spell Binding Sculptures For Christmas On Puri Beach

Puri: International Sand artist Manas Kumar Sahoo has given an awareness message on shunning plastic on the occasion of Christmas. On the eve of Christmas, Sahoo made several sand sculptures at on the golden sea-beach here depicting no-plastic message.

Many problems of today are related to plastic, and for that, the artist has made a cartoon for children where he has given the message – ‘We are ready to Fight Against Plastic Pollution’, and made the sculpture of a Church and a Santa Claus in sand.

“It is my cotton bag, where is your Cotton Bag?” the message on sand reads. 

The artist has put hard work for the last fifteen days to make these sand arts. Each sculpture ranges from eight to 10 feet and nearly 40 tonnes of sand was used.

Internationally acclaimed sand artist, Sudarsan Pattnaik has created World’s largest 3D sand Santa Clause at Puri beach. On the eve of Christmas, Pattnaik has created World’s biggest 3D Santa with message – ‘Go Green’ on the golden beach.

He has created this 3D art in 2500 sq ft area. He took 10 hours to complete this sculpture, used some colour sand to make attractive this sculpture. Students of his sand art school assisted him. 

“Day by day the temperature of earth is increasing. We should plant more trees to save our earth from global warming,” he said. Sudarsan said this time visitors can shake hand with this 3D sand Santa Clause.
