Bhubaneswar: India is experiencing severe heat waves this week with record-breaking temperatures above 40 degrees Celsius. Prime Minister Narendra Modi today held a meeting with Chief Ministers to discuss the various issues including COVID-19 resurgence and heatwave situation.
Addressing the meeting, the Prime Minister pointed out that with increasing temperature, fire incidents in forests and buildings are increasing. He specially asked for the fire safety audits of the hospitals. Modi said that the arrangements for meeting this challenge should be comprehensive and our response time should be the minimum.
“I urge all states to get safety audits of all hospitals done on a priority basis to prevent fire incidents which have been increasing amid heatwave. Our response time should also be minimal,” the Prime Minister said.
