Bhubaneswar/Champa: Even after 60 hours, rescue operations are still underway to save the 11-year-old Rahul Sahu who fell into an 80-feet deep abandoned borewell at Pihrid village in Chhattisgarh’s Janjgir-Champa district on Friday.
Rahul fell into the abandoned borewell located in the backyard of his house around 2 pm on Friday.
Teams from the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and state disaster response force (SDRF) are on the spot to extricate the child. It is reported that the rescue operation has reached its final stage.
Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, who is continuously taking information about the rescue operations, today informed that the rescue operation is still on. The time for taking out Rahul Sahu has increased due to the presence of a rock during drilling.
Sharing a video of the rescue operation, Baghel said, “These voices of NDRF jawans resonating around the borewell for the last 3 days remain the hope for Rahul. The child has also eaten a banana at 5 am today.”
