Bhubaneswar: In a tragic incident in Ranchi, Jharkhand, three people, including a newlywed woman, were killed in a road accident. On April 25, around 3 pm, a Scorpio vehicle (JH2E-3685) returning from a temple visit lost control and crashed into a roadside tree near Gandharia.
The deceased were identified as Preeti Kumari (23), her stepmother Pinki Kumari (30), and grandmother Bimala Devi (60). Six others, including the vehicle occupants, were seriously injured and admitted to Hazaribagh Hospital in critical condition.
The accident occurred while Rashmikant Sahu, a homeguard at Raibaga police station in Sundergarh , was returning with his family from a visit to Itkhori Maa Bhadrakali temple near Chatra. His son-in-law was driving the Scorpio. Locals rushed to the scene and rescued the injured, sending them to the hospital. The Ranchi police recovered the bodies and sent them for post-mortem. The incident has cast a pall of sadness over Biramitrapur and Raibaga areas of Sundergarh.
