Rayagada: Passengers of Visakhapatnam-Nizamuddin Samata Superfast Express (12807) were in for a shock when they found the train engine got detached from its coaches and ran for at least 3 km before stopping.
The engine got detached from the running train between Bobbili and Parvatipuram railway stations in Andhra Pradesh on Wednesday. The coaches came to a halt after the Guard at the back of the train saw the danger and applied the emergency brake.
The Guard also alerted the train driver who stopped the engine and returned back near the coaches. A team of technicians successfully connected the engine with the coaches and the train resumed its journey. No passenger was hurt in the incident.
