Malkangiri: Two jawans of the Chhattisgarh Armed Force (CAF) were injured when a pressure improvised explosive device (IED), allegedly planted by Naxals, exploded near Pandemurga village in Bijapur district of Chhattisgarh on Saturday.
Reportedly, a road opening party (ROP) of the CAF’s 8th battalion was out patrolling when CAF constable Ramnath Maurya stepped on the IED. He and another jawan were injured in the blast.
Maurya has received critical injuries. He was first rushed to a primary health centre at Nelasnar from where he was referred to Dantewada district hospital. After preliminary treatment, he was airlifted to Raipur for further treatment.
