Malkangiri: Two jawans of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) were injured after a pressure improvised explosive device (IED) planted by Naxals went off during a road security operation under Modakpal Police station limit in Bijapur district of Chhattisgarh on Thursday.
Reportedly, a team of the CRPF’s 170th battalion was out on a road security operation around 10.45 am in a forest between Murkinar and Chinnekadepal camps of security forces when two jawans came in contact with the pressure IED connection.
The two have been identified as constables Sannidul Islam and K Balkrishna. Both of them have received leg injuries. They are presently undergoing treatment at a local hospital where their condition was said to be out of danger.
