Bhubaneswar: Two Indo-Tibetan Border Patrol (ITBP) personnel were killed in an exchange of fire with Maoists in neighbouring Chhattisgarh’s Narayanpur district today.
According to reports, an Assistant Commandant and Assistant Sub Inspector of the ITBP have been killed in a Maoist attack near Kadameta camp of ITBP.
The deceased ITBP personnel have been identified as Assistant Commandant Sudhakar Shinde and Assistant Sub Inspector (ASI) Gurmukh.
According to preliminary reports, the Maoists fired at the ITBP officers during an area domination exercise by the latter.
The ultras have also looted one AK-47 rifle, two bullet-proof jackets and one wireless set, reports added.
