Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government has established 1542 new Primary Agricultural Cooperatives (PACS) and Large Tribal Multipurpose Cooperative Society (LAMPCS). These cooperatives aim to provide assistance to farmers and other vulnerable groups through collective efforts.
Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has given the green signal to make these newly formed organizations operational. To support their launch, the state government will provide seed money of Rs 5 lakh to each of the 1542 PACS and LAMPCS.
The initiative is expected to strengthen the cooperative sector in Odisha, ultimately benefiting farmers and promoting rural development.
The Chief Minister has approved a proposal to allocate Rs 76.80 Crores as capital for these new cooperatives. This investment is anticipated to enhance the overall effectiveness of the cooperative sector in the state.
The formation of these PACS and LAMPCS is part of the state government’s efforts to promote cooperative farming and provide economic support to marginalized communities.
