Bolangir: One person was killed after a DJ van ran over the same ‘Baraat’ (wedding party) that it was part of, late at night on Friday. The incident took place at Bagjharan village in Khaprakhol area of Patnagarh. The deceased has been identified as Raja Bariah.
At least 11 persons were injured in the mishap, while the condition of some is serious. The injured have been shifted to medical facilities in Patnagarh and Khaprakhol. Meanwhile, the local police seized the car and registered a case in this connection.
According to reports, at first, the car ferrying the groom rammed into the (DJ) vehicle carrying musical instruments and speakers, which in turn ran over the ‘Baraatis’, who were engrossed in dance, unaware of the calamity in waiting.
