Dharmagarh (Kalahandi): One person was killed and another was critically injured in a lightning strike at Ambaguda village under Koksara police limits in Dharmagarh block of Kalahandi district around noon today.
While the deceased has been identified as Pradip Dharua (20), the seriously injured has been identified as Jugeswar Majhi, locals said.
The locals said that Pradip and Jugeswar were working in the field when lightning struck them.
While Pradip died on the spot, fellow villagers rescued Jugeswar and got him admitted to the Sub Divisional Hospital here. His health condition is stated to be critical.
On being informed Koksara police reached the spot and seized the body before despatching it to Koksara Community Health Centre (CHC) for the conduct of an autopsy.
