Bhubaneswar: A devastating fire broke out near the Tarini Temple at Ghatagaon in Keonjhar district, gutting over 10 shops meant for selling prasad and other items.

The blaze, which occurred around 1:30 am, has caused significant damage, with estimated losses running into lakhs.

According to sources, the fire started from one of the shops near Gate No. 2 of the temple and quickly spread to adjacent shops. Upon being informed, fire brigade officials from the local fire station rushed to the spot and managed to bring the blaze under control.

This is not the first time that a fire has broken out near the temple. A similar incident occurred a few months ago near Gate No. 3, where several shops were gutted.

The cause of the fire is still unknown. An investigation is underway to determine the cause of the fire.

The temple administration and local authorities have launched a probe into the incident.
