Bhadrak: A van carrying students of a school skidded off the road and fell into a nearby pond near Nalugunda on the Chandbali-Bhadrak road on Friday. At least 10 students sustained injuries in the incident, with some reported to be severe. Fortunately, no fatalities have been reported.
The accident occurred after the driver lost control of the wheels due to overspeeding.
According to reports, the van, which was returning with the students of Utkalmani Gopabandhu Vidyamandir to their homes, met with the accident.
The injured students have been admitted to Chandabali CHC. An investigation into the incident is underway. The exact circumstances leading to the accident are yet to be determined.
Local Tehsildar rushed to the hospital after being informed about the accident and inquired about the condition of the children.
