Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government has initiated the process for setting up a state-of-the-art Science City in Bhubaneswar, with the Science and Technology Department taking key steps to bring the project to life.
Science and Technology Minister Krushna Chandra Patra has been visiting Science Cities in other states to study their construction models and operational systems. Last week, he inspected the Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Science City in Patna and held discussions with Bihar Deputy Chief Ministers Vijay Kumar Sinha and Samrat Choudhary on the project.
The proposed Science City will come up on 100 acres of land in Bhubaneswar and is expected to house modern exhibitions, immersive learning zones, and advanced research facilities. It aims to encourage scientific studies, innovation, and education among students and the public.
The minister further announced that a high-level committee will be constituted for the project. Technical experts from Bihar will also be invited to Odisha to share insights and guidance during the planning and construction phases.
