Bhubaneswar: As the BJP government completed 100 days in power on Thursday, Odisha Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida highlighted the Mohan Majhi-led BJP government’s impressive track record in fulfilling its pre-election promises.
At a state-level programme held in Puri celebrating the BJP government’s 100-day commemoration, Parida proudly reflected on the Mohan Majhi government’s achievements, showcasing its commitment to transparency and accountability.
“By fulfilling the promises made in the election manifesto, the BJP government has demonstrated its commitment to the people of Odisha and its dedication to the state’s progress and development. Majhi government has successfully opened the four doors of the Jagannath Temple and unlocked the Ratna Bhandar, a treasure trove that had remained locked for many years. Most notably, our government kept its word and launched the Subhadra Yojana, a mega welfare scheme aimed at empowering women.” said Parida.
Parida emphasized that while some promises have been fulfilled, others will be accomplished in the coming days, demonstrating the government’s ongoing dedication to Odisha’s progress.
She continued: “The government formed a corpus of Rs 500 crore for the Jagannath temple’s exigencies. Our cabinet has also approved a proposal to create a Rs 200-crore corpus fund to take various initiatives for the promotion of the Odia language, art, culture and heritage of the state. Some promises have been fulfilled and some will be fulfilled in the coming days.”
“With trust and hope, you helped the BJP to come to power in Odisha. And our government is truly of the people. Since Mohan Charan Majhi took office as Chief Minister, he has become the voice of the common man. Unlike previous leaders, he’s committed to connecting with citizens directly. This government promises to reach every corner of the state, ensuring everyone’s concerns are heard and addressed”, maintained Parida.
“It is being gossiped that the BJP’s rise to power would spell the end of the BJD’s flagship programme, Mission Shakti. However, the initiative remains thriving. The significant presence of Mission Shakti members in this programme is a testament to its continued success”, she added.
It is pertinent to mention that Mohan Charan Majhi, a politician from Keonjhar district and a four-time MLA, took office on June 12, after the BJP defeated Naveen Patnaik’s BJD in the Assembly elections. The BJP secured 78 seats in the 147-member Assembly, while the BJD won 51, Congress 14, Independents 3, and one seat went to CPI(M).
