100% Power Supply In Bhubaneswar Urban Areas By Today Midnight

Bhubaneswar:  With the restoration work underway on a war footing basis, the target to restore 100 per cent power supply in urban areas of the State Capital will be achieved by today midnight.

Secretary of Information and Public Relations department, Sanjay Singh, on Sunday informed that all the 44 feeders in Bhubaneswar City Distribution Division- I (BCDDI) had become operational on May 9 and power has been restored to 55,000 out of 58,000 consumers in this division.

Similarly, all 66 feeders under Bhubaneswar City Distribution Division- II (BCDDII) were made operational by today and 95,000 out of 97,000 consumers have received power supply. Remaining consumers will receive power supply by today night, he added.

Singh further informed that work is underway for re-installation of rural feeders under BCDDII. While 6 out of 16 feeders have become operational, work on four more will be completed by today night and all feeders will be made operational by May 15.

Speaking about Bhubaneswar Electrical Division, Bhubaneswar (BED), Singh informed that all 11 kV feeders under the division have become operational and 82,000 out of 87,000 consumers have received power supply, while rest will be receiving it by today night.

Singh further informed that 75 electricians under Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation have been deployed to address consumer complaints. Besides, 260 ITI students have been deployed to provide door to door service over issues regarding electricity and water.

He also informed that CESU authorities have been instructed to take quick action over consumer complaints in affected areas.

Likewise in Cuttack district, restoration of power supply to City Distribution Division- I, Cuttack (CDDI), City Distribution Division- II, Cuttack (CDDII) and Cuttack Electrical Division, Cuttack (CED) is undergoing at a high speed, said Singh.

He informed that all 11 kV feeders in urban areas of Cuttack district under CDDI have become operational and power supply restored to 70,000 out of 76,000 consumers in the division.

A target has been set to restore power supply to all rural feeders in CDDII division by May 15, said Singh adding that 23 out of 44 feeders under the division have become operational and power supply restored to 45,000 out of 70,000 consumers while the power supply to remaining consumers will be restored within two days.

Speaking about CED, Singh informed that two 33 kV feeders in the division have damaged and 16 out of 38 feeders of 11 kV capacity have become operational. While 46,000 out of 95,000 rural consumers under this division have received power supply, restoration work is underway on a war footing basis to provide power supply to remaining consumers, he added.
