Bhubaneswar: Eleven AAHAR centres oacross the Capital received ISO certification for maintaining quality and standard. The certificate stated that AAHAAR Kendra of Banki has been found in compliance with requirements of Quality Management System ISO 9001:2015 for the following scope: Provide Meal to Needy People Under the Flagship Program “Food for all”.
The centres which received ISO certification are the placed at Capital Hospital, Master Canteen, Sainik School Road, Baramunda bus stand, Nayapalli, two at AIIMS Hospital, Ashok Nagar, Rasulgarh, Museum Square, and SUM Hospital.
The Housing and Urban Development Department which manages the Aahaar programme expressed satisfaction over the achievement.
Expressing her happiness over this achievement, Aahaar Kendra Nodal Officer Sanghamitra Behera said that, “The 11 Aahaar centres received the certifications for their maintenance of food quality, hygienic conditions and for the overall management. The certification is only valid for three years after which the centres will go through detailed checking once again.”
She added, “The 11 centres provide about 9000 meals in a day, with the centres near hospitals running even during night time. The degree of reach and then the attainment of certification was only possible because of the co-operation from BMC to other Nodal Officers.”
