Balasore: A special forest team comprising officials from Balasore and Mayurbhanj districts has busted an illegal wildlife trade racket, arresting 11 individuals and seizing a Royal Bengal Tiger skin.
Acting on reliable information, the team swiftly swung into action, detaining four persons from Soro under Barajadeuli Beat in Talpada wildlife Section in Balasore district. Preliminary interrogation led to the arrest of seven more accused, and the seizure of a country-made gun from Mayurbhanj district.
The accused have been booked under the Wildlife Protection Act 1972 (amended in 2022) and a case has been registered under Chandipur WL Range, Balasore Wildlife Division.
All 11 accused have been forwarded to court.
