Sundargarh: Sundargarh police arrested 11 people on Thursday for allegedly killing a man over multiple disputes in Bijapada village under Dharuadihi police station limits.
Speaking to the media, Sundargarh SP Pratyush Dibakar said that the accused were involved in the murder of Chandan Dharua, a resident under Laikera police station.
“Based on a tip-off, police found an unidentified body on January 19. A case was registered the next day, and during the investigation, it was revealed that all 11 accused were from Laikera police station limits in Jharsuguda. Of them, seven are the main accused, while four others were part of the conspiracy,” he said.
The SP further stated that the accused had longstanding disputes with the victim.
“The seven main accused had separate issues with the victim. They planned the murder, while the other four were aware of the plan and supported the conspiracy,” he added.
Additionally, seven knives were recovered from the accused.
“The accused had purchased the knives during the Bamra Makar Jatra in Sambalpur, which were later used in the crime,” the SP said.
