Bhubaneswar: As many as 11 workers, including eight women who were reportedly tortured at their workplace in Andhra Pradesh have returned to Odisha safely.
The labourers from Sundergarh district went to Andhra in search of a job.
After being informed about the workers being stranded in Andhra Pradesh, Chief Minister’s Office instructed the Directorate of Odisha Parivar to rescue them safely and bring them back to Odisha.
Odisha Parivar Director Dilip Routray coordinated with the government of Andhra Pradesh, Labour and Employees, State Insurance Department and made arrangements for their safe return.
All the workers arrived at Bhubaneswar railway station today. Special Duty Officer Pritish Panda welcomed them on behalf of Odisha Parivar Directorate.
The workers expressed their gratitude to the Chief Minister, the Odisha Parivar and the entire team, and the officials of the Labor and Employees State Insurance Department for their cooperation in bringing them back safely to home.
