11-Year-Old Boy Drowns In Kendrapara Village Pond

Bhubaneswar: An 11-year-old boy drowned in a village pond while taking bath as part of purification rituals following the death of his uncle at Sanmang village under Ali police station in Kendrapara police station.

According to reports, the deceased has been identified as Ayushman Kumar Jena, son of Ravi Narayan Jena. The boy slipped and drowned in the pond while taking a bath, but fortunately, some children nearby raised an alarm, and the villagers rushed to the scene. They searched for Ayushman in the pond and managed to rescue him. Despite their efforts, the boy was taken to Ali Hospital, where the doctor declared him dead.

The incident has sent shockwaves in the village.
