Dhenkanal: In a tragic incident, a minor boy died after falling into an open well in the Kamakshanagar area in Odisha’s Dhenkanal district late on Sunday night.
The deceased has been identified as Shubham Naik, a 12-year-old son of Biranchi Naik of Boluu village under Tumusinga police station limits.
The incident occurred when Biranchi was returning home with his family after watching a Jatra show late Sunday night, Shubham stopped on the way to answer nature’s call. In the darkness, he stepped into an open well and died due to drowning.
When Shubham did not return after some time, his family members launched a search for him. But there was no sight of the boy. This morning, villagers launched a fresh search and found Shubham’s body floating in the.
After informing his family and the police, the villagers recovered Subham’s body from the well with the help of local people. Kamakshanagar police personnel reached the spot, seized the dead body, and sent it to Kamakshanagar Medical Center for autopsy.
As the news of Subham’s unnatural death spread, a pall of gloom descended on his uncle’s village, Sardipur, and on his own village, Bolua.
