Angul: In a tragic turn of events, a 12-year-old girl who had been reported missing for two days was found dead under a bush in the Angul district on Friday. The discovery has sent shockwaves through the local community.
The incident occurred within the jurisdiction of the NTPC (National Thermal Power Corporation) police station. The deceased was a Class VIII student at a nearby school, according to officials.
Police stated that the investigation was launched after the girl’s father filed a missing person complaint. “A case was registered after a missing person complaint was filed by the deceased’s father. Early this morning, we recovered the body of the girl,” a police officer said.
Following the recovery of the body, senior police officials, along with a forensic team and a dog squad, were dispatched to the scene to begin a thorough investigation.
The body has been sent to a local hospital for a post-mortem examination to determine the exact cause of death. Police have stated that further inquiries are underway to ascertain the circumstances that led to the girl’s death.
