**Baripada:** In an unprecedented development in Mayurbhanj district, 12 boys and a girl student of Brahmanagaon residential school in Bangiriposi jumped the wall of their hostel in the wee hours of Tuesday morning at 3 am and walked 20 kms towards the Baripada to meet the District Collector for reporting their grievances.

They were found standing in front of the Collector’s office and had come to have a discussion regarding the alleged absence of teachers in their school.

According to their allegations, there is no permanent teacher in the school, and the temporary ones are not turning up in the school. There are no teachers in the subjects of Science and Maths for Class X. They had earlier intimated this problem to the ABO, BEO, and DEO but no concrete steps were taken up to redress their problem.

With the matric exams round the corner, the students are in a tight fix. Having no other option, they decided to meet the Collector.

It is not known whether they were able to meet the Collector or not for reporting their problems till the filing of this report.
