Bhubaneswar: A 14-year-old boy attempted suicide by consuming poison on Thursday after hearing about the death of his elder brother. Such an incident occurred at Kumbharkhan village under Belpada police limits in Bolangir district.
The boy has been identified as Biswajit Putel while his elder brother was Deepak Putel (25).
Reportedly, Deepak had gone fishing at Cheliamal Dam near Jhankripali village late Wednesday evening but he drowned. On hearing about his brother’s death, Biswajeet consumed poison.
His family members rushed him to Patnagarh sub-divisional hospital where his condition was stated to be critical.
