Bhubaneswar: A 15-foot-long King Cobra was safely captured and released back into the wild in Rayagada district. The massive reptile was spotted in a residential area of Muniguda on Thursday, and local residents called in snake catcher Jalandhar Gumpha from Munikhol.

After a successful rescue, the snake was identified as a King Cobra. The reptile was later released into its natural habitat in a nearby jungle.

According to the snake catcher, this species is more commonly found in countries like China and Japan, making this a rare sighting in the region. The reptile might enter the human settlement in search of food.
